More Hidden Logo Elements - Goodwill
There is a very subtle, hidden design element in the Goodwill Industries logo. Can you see it?
It's a G! Yippee! I got this one! (I really struggled with the FedEx one! Although, every time I see a FedEx commercial or truck, I look for the arrow!)
I was privvy to some controversy over this logo when it came out. This was no slam dunk internally for GWI. Some goodwill employees thought it focused on the disabled being less than whole, or "half witted."
Too bad people spend so much time on trivial issues like logos and things on the periphery. Imagine what we'd accomplish if we went after the issues that good people face just trying to eek out a survival life style... the difference is "man kind" in stead of "society". Think about eh difference.
Dear anonymous poster - with regard to priorities and time spent, if there's a company that spends more time on community service and volunteerism than Maple Creative, I am not aware of one. http://www.volunteerwv.org/nd/index_business_case_studies_maple.cfm
Thanks for stopping by and adding your thoughts to this conversation. Glad to know that you had some fun and learned something too. About FedEx, it is rather unnerving once your brain is exposed to the arrow that's carved out of the negative space of the letter forms, isn't it?

This one is subtle!
There is a goodwill around the corner from my office; I see that smiley face all the time and never noticed that the 'G' was there.

Yay! I am now in the 'know'
it's a G (lowercase) Although I did learn of the arrow in FedEx about a couple of years ago. Now, it's all I see!
